Israel: Beirut. Won’t back down
A recent escalation in the ongoing 2026 Lebanon war saw Israel launch one of its largest waves of airstrikes on Beirut and other parts of Lebanon on April 8, 2026.
The attacks, aimed at Hezbollah positions, reportedly hit over 100 targets in a short span, causing widespread destruction in densely populated areas. Hundreds of people were killed and many more injured, with hospitals overwhelmed and civilians caught in the chaos.
The strikes came despite a broader regional ceasefire being discussed, intensifying fears of a wider war in the Middle East.
